The main character, Fanny Price, is sent at an early age from her poor family to live with her rich uncle and aunt, Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram, at Mansfield Park. She grows up with her four cousins, Tom, Edmund, Maria and Julia, but is always treated as inferior to them; only Edmund shows her real kindness. Despite often being unhappy during her childhood, Fanny grows up with a strong sense of propriety and virtue, and remains closely attached to her brother William (possibly based on Jane Austen's brother Frank), who has begun a career in the Royal Navy. Over time, Fanny's gratitude for Edmund's kindness secretly grows into love.

***mansfield park is my ultimate (along with pride and prejudice) jane austen novel. have always wanted to do a render of fanny price. supposedly a simple render but took a life of it's own. pain in the butt piece but glad the outcome is decent enough to show in public, lol. hope you guys likes. apologies for the late thank yous and comments and note replies, i will get to it by tomorrow. it's been sooooooo busy over here it's not even funny....sigh, i need a vacation!!!!

How fearful a thing to love what death can touch. Ars longa, vita brevis.

Pretty, pretty! I LOVE Jane Austen. That is too cool. Are you going to do other characters some day too? Elizabeth Bennett...Mr. Darcy... Hmm, do you do guys? Er...I mean, in your art. :) Your women are always gorgeous, but I don't think I've seen a lot of men. I'm going to go peruse your gallery again and check it out... :) Nice job!

I have to agree with the others. This is a very wonderful piece. You have managed to express a great strength and inner beauty in the character's face. The background speaks of abundance, but her dress, while elegant isn't guady or pretentious. I haven't read this novel, but think I know the main character from the love and care you put into arranging and rendering this piece.
