a simple piece dedicated to one of my bestest friends :icondesignsbyeve: ... thank you for the present sweetie!!! loves you lots!!! :glomp:

the scene:
there is this line in the movie 300 that goes: "hundreds leave...a handful stayed...only one looks back..." i really loved that line so i thought i'd do my own rendition of it. only this one is of a warrior, looking down at the village below, taking one last glimpse of home.

***Background is from stock exchange - many thanks! :blowkiss:

You really managed to get an expression of sorrow in this woman's face. I can feel her pathos. As one who has had to leave loved ones behind to go off to do my duty to country (and thankfully returned) I know a bit of what she is feeling. Nevertheless, I left with the expectancy of returning. Somehow I feel that this woman knows she will not be returning in her lifetime.

There is an old saying "you can't go home again" and I've found this to be true many, many times.

If she were to live and return, she will have been changed and the people and places she left behind will have changed as well.

A very nice piece.
