Journal Entry: Sun Nov 28, 2010, 9:51 AM

Listening to: [link]

What a day - had my first cup of coffee  this morning and sat down in front of the computer :pc: to check my e-mails, notes and such never realizing that my messages have sprouted over a thousand! :faint: Cruising around, I saw this awesome deviation and thought "man, this should be a DD!" So then I went looking for :iconkeremgo:'s link to suggest a DD when I spotted a familiar image. Uh...what's my render doing in the DD...:jawdrop: OMG, I got a DD??? I got a DD!!!!" :eyepopping:

Then I :faint:

Thanks once again :iconkeremgo: and thanks Adi, Vex and Angie as well! :blowkiss: THANKS everyone kind enough to add The Scout to their favs - it means a lot to me!

A daily deviation. The select few pieces of art that are awknowledged for outstanding whatever. It's basically an honor.

CONGRATULATIONS! What a well-deserved DD! I can't believe I missed such awesome news while I was busy and away from DA! Hahaha, you can't disable your journal's comments! I see that you have been diligently responding to all your fans! Seriously, I thought you must have a dozen DD's by now. Your gallery has an over-abundance of DD-worthy pieces.

I just want to say on the record that it's an atrocity that Amaya doesn't have a DD yet!

Yes, where have you been, Ms. Fong, hmm? Ugh, I felt like a stuffed turkey last Thanksgiving, lol. Hope you had a great one, hun!

Thanks for the kind words as always, I can say the same about your gallery. It's a treasure trove full of DDs! :eyepopping: I would definitely want to see more of yours up there.

OMG, I love this one >> :iconyaysupplz:

I had a belly full of yummy smoked honey-glazed ham for Thanksgiving! I am glad to be back after taking care of some stressful business!

I swiped this jumping bean :iconyaysupplz:off someone. :giggle:

The final frontier for me is learning the mind-boggling 3D art that you do! :wow:

Well, glad the "stressful business" is taken care of. I for one can't wait to see your next deviation! :excited:

As for learning 3D...let me ask (and I am sure I won't be the only 3D renderer that will ask you this) why would you want to? You can paint anything so effortlessly, why waste it on 3D? Sheeesh!

I am not very productive lately. My next deviation will be delayed by holiday shopping. It's fun but tiring to be a Santa to nieces and nephew.

Um...I take it from the 'sheeesh' that I am clueless? LOL! 3D seems very involved and technical. To be honest, I am clueless. I always thought 3D rendering is the initial step towards elementary 3D animation, then who knows, Pixar! Mind you, I am happy to stick with Photoshop. It took me eons to learn it. I doubt I can learn Maya or Z-brush on my own!

Oh, no...the "sheesh" is more like "with your talent, why would you even consider using 3D figures?". Unless you are thinking about modeling or animating then I can see how having knowledge in these fields will add to your portfolio but just plain rendering scenes...nah, you can paint figures better than most of us can light them.
